First experimental result

In our first experiment we had two different trial sections.

In our trial experiment, we followed the procedure that we had initially made. Using a potato cube of 5mm each side. But we quickly found out that this will not work. Our potato cube size was too small and the heat of oil at 200C was too hot. Before the timer reached 2 minutes, all our potatoes had turned black.

Normalized water out  is defined to be the average of mass drop for t=0 samples and assumed to besimilar for all samples, which is (67.32+67.85)/2 = 67.59%
Attached mass  is defined by water out minus mass drop of the sample, which is assumed to be the oily substances attaching on the sample

Two sample t-test is used to test significance between t=0 group and t=20 mins group

t=0 vs t=20 mins

As p<<0.05, there should be significance in their difference.

This success will lead us to the next experiment, testing oil viscosity and acidity

Have fun!

Looks like crap, smells like crap, but tastes not that bad!
